The Chicago Wilderness Corporate Council is an integral member of the Chicago Wilderness consortium, an internationally acclaimed alliance of nearly 200 public and private agencies devoted to maintaining and enhancing the biodiversity of Chicago region ecosystems.

Council members contribute to the consortium’s efforts in a variety of ways. Among them:

• Sharing technical expertise and partnering with other Chicago Wilderness members on biodiversity projects, 
• Helping to develop a shared vision of sustainable nature in the metropolitan area, and collaborating on policy initiatives to advance this vision.

Each year, the Corporate Council, of which WRD is a founding member, provides more than $100,000 in financial support toward Chicago Wilderness operating expenses and grants.
