Nature Boardwalk, Fish Hotel Win Landscape Awards
Nature Boardwalk at Lincoln Park Zoo and the Chicago River Fish Hotel have been recognized by the Illinois Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA). Nature Boardwalk has won the highest Honor Award in the category of Environmental Stewardship. And the Fish Hotel, a project of the nonprofit Friends of the Chicago River, has won a Merit Award in the same category.
Lincoln Park Zoo had a vision for South Pond: a natural ecosystem in the heart of the city. The award recognizes that vision and WRD’s execution of it.
Judges lauded the Fish Hotel as being a “phenomenal project” on a small budget, its educational value and the way it softens the river’s edge.
