Conference to Highlight Sustainable Sites Initiative

The Midwest Ecological Landscape Association (MELA) and Chicago Botanic Garden (CBG) will host “Our Future is in YOUR Hand: Sustainability in Action” on February 25. The full-day conference will be held at CBG and look at the five aspects of sustainability addressed in the newly launched Sustainable Sites Initiative: plants, soil, water management, materials, and human health/well being.

Ron Hall, editor-at-large of Landscape Management magazine, will keynote. Breakout sessions will conclude with a plenary session on shoreline restoration and a tour of the Botanic Garden’s new Plant Science Center.
