Solar Decathlon House at Green Tech
WRD personnel direct installation of the Solar Decathlon house at the Chicago Center for Green Technology.
The University of Illinois Solar Decathlon house has arrived at the Chicago Center for Green Technology. The entirely solar-powered home was among 20 entries in the international Solar Decathlon competition held by the U.S. Department of Energy in Washington, DC. It finished among the top 10.
Moving the house was a feat overseen by WRD, which guided the effort to carefully shoehorn the structure through narrow streets and into place at Green Tech. WRD also developed a landscape plan for the site.
