Ecological Consulting Firm offers Design and Installation of Sustainable Landscapes
Chicago Center for Green Technology

The award-winning Chicago Center for Green Technology is a former abandoned building and brownfield that have turned green – with a platinum LEED rating.
WRD played a key role in optimizing water management on the site as lead designer. With Greencorps Chicago, we developed a wetland, with native plants that help absorb water and filter pollutants.
Bioswales direct water to the wetland. Porous pavement in a nearby demonstration garden allows water to seep into the soil rather than run off. And our landscape irrigation system uses collected rainwater.
Not only do these measures help cut by half the amount of stormwater running off the site, the water leaving it is cleaner, too.
