Jerry Attere

Jerry is a consultant to the Chicago Department of Environment for its Calumet Initiative, revitalizing the local economy and environment of Chicago’s Calumet area. He manages key projects involving wetland restoration, environmental remediation, and environmental education and outreach, as well as pursues funding to support these projects.

Jerry works closely with the Program Director in several aspects of the Ford Calumet Environmental Center, a regional hub for environmental research, programming and stewardship that is under development. His responsibilities include program and exhibit planning, managing and supporting various Calumet restoration projects, and providing hands-on outdoor learning opportunities for Chicago Public School students.

Jerry has a B.A. in International Studies from Bradley University and an M.A. in Geography and Environmental Studies from Northeastern Illinois University, with an emphasis in environmental education and natural resource conservation and mapping.
